Peugeot 308: Cleaning and refitting conditions : ML6 type manual gearbox

Do not use abrasives or sharp tools on the joint faces.

Clean the threads and taps.

Fit only parts which are clean and free from faults (scores, burrs, knocks).

Oil the parts as they are refitted.

Systematically replace the following parts :

• The seals
• The pins
• The bearings
• The screws of the lines of the primary and secondary shafts
• The differential gearwheel screws
• The gearbox cover plate
• The 5th - 6th gear synchronizer stop ring

Respect the matching of the following components :

• clutch housing - gearbox casing - Differential housing
• Forks and fork shafts
• Hubs and synchronizers
