Peugeot 308: Removing - refitting : The supplies protection and management unit

ESSENTIAL : Observe the safety and cleanliness recommendations .

ESSENTIAL : All personnel carrying out work on a vehicle fitted with traction batteries must have received specific electric vehicle training and be authorised to work on these vehicles (observe the regulations in force in the respective country).

1Adhesive paper tape.

3. Location

(1) Supplies protection and management unit .

N.B. : The supplies protection and management unit (1) is installed in front of the ancillaries battery.

N.B. : The supplies protection and management unit (1) cuts the power supply to make the vehicle safe in the event of a short-circuit.

4. Preliminary operation

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required prior to a disconnection of the ancillaries battery .

CAUTION : In the case of a vehicle with 2 batteries, carry out the specific operations for disconnecting and reconnecting the ancillaries batteries.

Disconnect the ancillaries battery or batteries.

5. Removing

Protect the positive terminal of the ancillaries battery ; With a plastic cap (at "a").

Remove the cover (2).

Remove the nut (4).

Disconnect the ancillaries battery positive cable (5).

CAUTION : Systematically replace the nuts (3), (4).

CAUTION : Identify and label each electrical wire with the corresponding fuse identification before disconnecting the supplies protection and management unit (Vehicle breakdown (or potential risk)).

Label the wires (at "c") with the reference for the corresponding fuse (at "d") ; Using adhesive tape .

N.B. : The number of fuses and wires varies according to the vehicle’s equipment.

Remove :

• The nuts (3)
• The wires (Wire by wire)

Unclip the supplies protection and management unit (1) (at "b").

Remove the supplies protection and management unit (1).

6. Refitting

CAUTION : Observe the tightening torques .

N.B. : Before refitting the nuts (3), ensure that the labels (at "c") match the marks (at "d").

Refit the supplies protection and management unit (1).

Secure the supply management protection control unit (1) (at "b").

Refit :

• The electrical wires (Wire by wire)
• The new nuts (3) ; Using the tool [1603-3]

Reconnect the ancillaries battery positive cable (5).

Refit :

• The new nut (4)
• The electrical supplies protection and management unit cover (2)

Remove the plastic cap (at "a").

7. Additional operation

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required after reconnecting the ancillaries battery .

CAUTION : In the case of a vehicle with 2 batteries, carry out the specific operations for disconnecting and reconnecting the ancillaries batteries.

Reconnect the ancillaries battery or batteries.
