Peugeot 308: Dismantling : MB6 type manual gearbox

ESSENTIAL : Observe the safety and cleanliness recommendations .

1. Tooling

2. Dismantling

Remove :

• The reverse gear switch (1)
• The bolt (2)
• The gear control neutral sensor (3)

Remove :

• The bolt (4)
• The gutter (5)

Remove :

• The breather opening (6)
• The drain cap (7)
• The left-hand driveshaft seal (8)

Remove :

• The clutch bearing (9)
• The clutch fork (10)

2.1. Gearbox casing

Remove :

• The bolts (11)
• The bolt (12)
• The gearbox casing (13)

Engage a gear.

Put the tool [0343 / DT-52356] in place on the primary shaft (14).

Immobilise the tool [0343 / DT-52356] ; Using an bolt(at "a").

Remove :

• The input shaft bolt (15)
• The secondary shaft bolt (16)

Remove the locking ring (17).

Remove :

• The 14 bolts (18)
• The gearbox casing (19)

2.2. Input and secondary shafts

Remove :

• The oil filler neck (20)
• The reverse gear rocker lever shaft (21)

Remove the split pin (22).

Remove the gear engagement shaft (23).

Remove the cassette assembly (24) from the manual gearbox.

Remove :

• The input shaft (14)
• The secondary shaft (25)
• The forks (26)

Remove the nut (27).

Remove :

• The reverse gear rocker lever shaft (28)
• The reverse sliding gear (29)
• The reverse gear sliding gear (30)

Remove :

• The 3 bolts (31)
• The stop guide (32)

2.3. differential box

Remove :

• Lipped seal (33)
• The bolts (34)
• The final drive extension (35)

Remove :

• The nuts (36)
• The nuts (37)
• The bolts (38)
• The bolts (39)

N.B. : The differential casing (40) has notches "b" and "c" to facilitate removal.

Place a screwdriver in the notches "b" and "c" and lever up.

Remove :

• The differential housing (40)
• The differential housing (41) fitted with its bearing outer races
