Peugeot 308: Removing - refitting : Filtering and drying cartridge

ESSENTIAL : Observe the safety and cleanliness recommendations .

ESSENTIAL : All personnel carrying out work on a vehicle fitted with traction batteries must have received specific electric vehicle training and be authorised to work on these vehicles (observe the regulations in force in the respective country).

CAUTION : Only remove the plugs from the air conditioning ducts, clamps and unions at the moment when these are connected on the vehicle.

1. Replacement of parts in all cases

2. Tooling

Workshop equipment : Air conditioning circuit filling and recycling station.

3. Preliminary operations

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required prior to a disconnection of the ancillaries battery .

Disconnect the ancillaries battery .

Drain the air conditioning circuit ; Using the filling and recycling station.

Remove the electric drive machine cover (depending on equipment).

4. Removing

N.B. : Protect the surrounding area ; Using a clean cloth.

Disconnect the connector (In "a").

CAUTION : Plug all of the ducts quickly to prevent the entry of moisture ; Using the tools [1701-HZ].

Remove the nut (1).

Uncouple the air conditioning duct (2) (In "b").

Unclip the electrical harness (In "d").

Unclip the protector (3) (at "c" and "e").

Unclip the protector (4) (In "f").

Remove the bolts (5) and (7).

Move the filtering and drying cartridge (8) away from the air conditioning duct (6) ; Push in the direction of the arrow .

CAUTION : Plug all of the ducts quickly to prevent the entry of moisture ; Using the tools [1701-HZ].

Uncouple and move aside the bracket (9) (in the direction of the arrow ) (In "g").

Tilt the filtering and drying cartridge (8) - bracket (9) assembly (towards the front of the vehicle).

Remove the filtering and drying cartridge (9) - bracket assembly (8).

5. Refitting

CAUTION : Observe the tightening torques .

CAUTION : Only remove the plugs from the air conditioning ducts, clamps and unions at the moment when these are connected on the vehicle.

CAUTION : The drying cartridge is always supplied in a vacuum-sealed film. If the packaging is not hermetically sealed or if the expiry date (if indicated) has passed, the dryer kit must not be used. It must be destroyed.

CAUTION : Do not leave the new filtering and drying cartridge in the open air for more than 5 minutes.

CAUTION : Fit the new O-rings (10), (11).

Oil the O-rings (10) ,(11) ; With air conditioning compressor oil.

Open the vacuum-packed dryer kit.

Refit :

• The new filtering and drying cartridge (8)
• The support (9)
• The air conditioning duct (6)
• The bolts (5), (7)

Reposition and reclip :

• The protector (4) (In "f")
• The protector (3) (at "c" and "e")

Clip the electrical harness (In "d").

Couple up the air conditioning pipe (2) (In "b").

Refit the nut (1).

Reconnect the connector (In "a").

6. Additional operations

Refit the electric drive machine cover (depending on equipment).

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required after reconnecting the ancillaries battery .

Reconnect the ancillaries battery .

N.B. : When filling the system with refrigerant fluid, add the quantity of oil which corresponds to that which the component replaced contained (Filtering and drying cartridge).

Carry out a vacuum extraction of the air conditioning circuit (For 35 minutes minimum) ; Using the filling and recycling station.

Check the sealing of the air conditioning circuit.

ELECTRIC DRIVE TRAIN

Fill the air conditioning circuit .

CAUTION : After each operation on the air conditioning circuit, clean the air conditioning circuit.

To clean the air conditioning circuit ; Using the diagnostic tool :

• Connect the diagnostic tool
• Access the sub-menu : Electric drive train supervisor ECU / Repair / Service action / Cleaning of the air conditioning circuit
• Activate the air conditioning circuit cleaning procedure

Check the operation of the air conditioning.
