Peugeot 308: Removing - refitting : Filtering and drying cartridge (Special feature for hot and humid countries and very hot countries)

ESSENTIAL : Observe the safety and cleanliness recommendations .

ESSENTIAL : All personnel carrying out work on a vehicle fitted with traction batteries must have received specific electric vehicle training and be authorised to work on these vehicles (observe the regulations in force in the respective country).

ESSENTIAL : All personnel working on vehicles with a fuel cell stack must have completed the STELLANTIS training courses required to work on these vehicles (observe the regulations in force in the respective country).

N.B. : List of countries affected by this specific procedure concerning the air conditioning circuit .

1. Replacement of parts in all cases

2. Tooling

Workshop equipment : Air conditioning circuit filling and recycling station.

3. Preliminary operations

ESSENTIAL : Before carrying out any work on the air conditioning circuit, take the necessary precautions.

Drain the air conditioning circuit ; Using the air conditioning circuit filling and recycling station.

Remove :

• The front bumper
• The air conditioning condenser

CAUTION : Plug all of the ducts quickly to prevent the entry of moisture ; Using the tools [1701-HZ].

4. Removing

N.B. : Removing the filtering and drying cartridge is done from below the air conditioning condenser.

4.1. Air conditioning condenser assembly with plug

Assembly "A" : Recessed plug TORX (1a).

Assembly "B" : Recessed 6-sided plug (1b).

N.B. : Clean in the vicinity of the plastic cap using a clean cloth in order to remove impurities.

Remove the cap (1).

Remove the drying cartridge (2) (In the direction of the arrow "a").

4.2. Air conditioning condenser assembly with filtering and drying cartridge

N.B. : Clean using a dry cloth to remove impurities.

Remove :

• The 2 bolts (4)
• The filtering and drying cartridge (3) (In the direction of the arrow "b")

5. Refitting

CAUTION : Only remove the plugs of the pipes, clamps and unions when these components are being connected to the vehicle.

N.B. : Clean in the vicinity of the plastic cap using a clean cloth in order to remove impurities.

5.1. Air conditioning condenser assembly with plug

N.B. : Replace the plug (1) each time the drying cartridge (2) is replaced.

CAUTION : The drying cartridge is always supplied in a vacuum-sealed film. If the packaging is not hermetically sealed or if the expiry date (if indicated) has passed, the dryer kit must not be used. It must be destroyed.

CAUTION : Do not leave the new drying cartridge out in the open air.

Open the vacuum-packed dryer kit.

Insert the drying cartridge (2) into the air conditioning condenser.

CAUTION : Observe the tightening torques.

Fit a new cap (1) ; Tighten to 1,5 daNm.

5.2. Air conditioning condenser assembly with filtering and drying cartridge

CAUTION : Do not remove the plugs from the dryer kit until they are ready to be fitted to the air conditioning condenser.

N.B. : Check that 2 O-ring seals are present on the new filtering and drying cartridge.

CAUTION : The filtering and drying cartridge must not remain in the open air, even when connected to the air conditioning circuit.

CAUTION : Observe the tightening torques.

Tighten the 2 bolts (4) to 0,6 daNm .

Refit :

• The filtering and drying cartridge (3)
• The 2 new bolts (4)

6. Additional operations

Refit the air conditioning condenser .

Carry out :

• A vacuum extraction of the air conditioning circuit (for a maximum of 15 minutes)
• A sealing test of the air conditioning circuit
• A vacuum extraction of the air conditioning circuit (for a maximum of 35 minutes)
• Filling of the air conditioning circuit

N.B. : When replacing the filtering and drying cartridge, add 15 cm3 of air conditioning compressor oil.

Check the operation of the air conditioning.

Refit the front bumper.
