2. Information on carrying out the procedure
The procedure requires the following operations to be carried out in the correct order :
- A check of the vehicle’s 4G network coverage
- A first download and installation of the radio frequency connectivity box (BSRF / RTBM) software
- A second download and installation of the IVI audio-navigation system ECU with the diagnostic tool
- A check that the vehicle operates correctly following the repair
3. Important instructions for carrying out the procedure
CAUTION : Failure to do so will result in the failure of the operation and the immobilisation of the vehicle.
3.1. Instructions related to the vehicle
Park the vehicle outside for optimum 4G signal reception.
Do not switch off the internal combustion engine during the operation, except where requested.
Do not move the vehicle once the repair has started.
Do not connect the DIAGBOX diagnostic tool if not requested to do so.
For hybrid vehicles, disconnect the charging cable from the charging socket unit.
The new vehicle preparation must be carried out.
If the vehicle is equipped with keyless entry and starting, place the hands-free identifier in the electronic key reader or in the central storage compartment.
CAUTION : During vehicle update procedures, a Wi-Fi connection may be requested even if the 4G network connection is active. In this case, wait a few minutes for the vehicle to switch back to the 4G network connection.

4.2. Activation of the vehicle’s Wi-Fi connection
CAUTION : If the vehicle is equipped with keyless entry and starting, place the hands-free identifier in the electronic key reader or in the central storage compartment.
If the 4G network coverage is not available, connect to the Wi-Fi via the multifunction screen.
N.B. : If unable to connect to the Wi-Fi WLANPSAR access point, refer to Item no. 34372 available in iSOLVE.
N.B. : The multifunction screen may be configured differently depending on the customer’s preferences.

5. First download and installation of the radio frequency connectivity box (BSRF / RTBM) updates via OTA (Over The Air)
5.1. Retrieval of the update
CAUTION : During vehicle update procedures, a Wi-Fi connection may be requested even if the 4G network connection is active. In this case, wait 3 minutes for the vehicle to switch back to the 4G network connection.
CAUTION : Leave the engine running throughout the procedure to avoid going into economy mode : Switching to ECO mode during the procedure renders the IVI audio-navigation system/IVI connected audio system permanently unusable.
CAUTION : If the vehicle is equipped with keyless entry and starting, place the hands-free identifier in the electronic key reader or in the central storage compartment.

5.3. Installation of the vehicle update

6. Download and installation of the IVI audio-navigation system/IVI connected audio system updates with the diagnostic tool
6.1. Switching of the vehicle to dormant mode
Switch off the ignition.
Close the doors and windows, lock the vehicle, move the hands-free identifier away from the vehicle and wait 5 minutes for the vehicle to become dormant.
6.2. Prerequisites related to the diagnostic tool

Connect the DIAGBOX diagnostic tool to the WIFI WLANPSARetail network.
N.B. : If there is a problem connecting to the WIFI WLANPSARetail access point, refer to Item no. 34372 available in iSOLVE.
CAUTION : It is necessary to reauthenticate before going to the next stage.
6.3. Downloading over the Internet
Downloading over the Internet :
- Select the affected vehicle
- Select the ECU : IVI HEAD audio-navigation system/IVI HEAD connected audio system
- Select the menu : Repair
- Select the menu : Downloading
- Select the menu : Downloading
- Follow the instructions displayed on the diagnostic tool screen
CAUTION : The installation of the software on the vehicle may take up to 20 minutes, do not carry out any work on the vehicle.
CAUTION : The download and installation of the new software are displayed on the multifunction screen during the procedure, this is normal operation.
CAUTION : The progress of the software installation on the vehicle is not linear, some screens may remain at the same progress level for several minutes (approximately 90% of the installation time is displayed at 25%).
CAUTION : Do not disconnect the DIAGBOX diagnostic tool even if the installation of the new software is said to be complete on the multifunction screen.
CAUTION : If the procedure fails, stops or crashes, repeat the procedure from stage 6 - Download and installation of the IVI audio-navigation system/IVI connected audio system updates with the diagnostic tool.

7. Check after repair
7.1. Initialisation / becoming dormant
Initialisation / becoming dormant :
- Disconnect the ancillaries battery charger
- Switch off the ignition
- Close all of the doors and windows, and move the hands-free identifiers away from the vehicle
- Wait 10 minutes without any action on the vehicle
CAUTION : This stage is important in order for all of the ECUs to synchronise.
N.B. : If this stage is not carried out, the vehicle will present malfunctions.
7.2. Check after repair
Perform the following operations :
- Read the faults using the diagnostic tool
- Erase the fault codes (If necessary)
- Start the vehicle
- Check the operation of the vehicle
- Check the operation of the audio system
N.B. : In some cases, the configuration of the IVI audio-navigation system/connected audio system reverts to the default settings; inform the customer that they will need to reprogramme the parameters.
